Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the prolific producers admired for their work in film, television and theater, have signed a three-year development and production deal with the Shubert Organization, a Shubert spokesman announced Thursday.

The spokesman said that it was too early to discuss specific plans. But the arrangement gives the organization access to the team’s typically inventive and commercially lucrative productions, and Mr. Zadan and Mr. Meron berths for their productions in some of New York’s choicest theaters, which are owned by Shubert.

Mr. Zadan and Mr. Meron produced the last two Oscar shows and will produce the 2015 show as well. Their film productions include “Hairspray,” “The Bucket List” “Footloose” and the Oscar-winning version of “Chicago.” As extensive as their film and television credits are, much of their most highly regarded work for both the small and large screen have links to the theater. Besides “Chicago,” their productions include television versions of “Gypsy,” “Annie,” “The Music Man” and “The Sound of Music Live!,” with Carrie Underwood as Maria.

Their Broadway productions include the 2011 revival of “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” with Daniel Radcliffe and John Larroquette, and the 2010 revival of “Promises, Promises,” with Kristin Chenoweth and Sean Hayes.
